Lakeheights Rd man arrested in convenience store robbery case

At 9:45pm Sun 3rd Feb 2 men wearing masks and gloves entered a convenience store on Sage Rd. One of them brandished a knife and demanded money and cigarettes.

Cash and cigarettes were turned over and both men fled south on Sage Rd. Several police officers converged on the area and the OPP dog attended. The dog tracked one of the suspects for approximately 3 kilometres.

He was arrested at 11:06 pm in possession of some of the cash and cigarettes.

Hugues Nawej 18yrs of Lakeheights Rd has been charged with robbery and disguise with intent.

He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing.
