Canada Post advises mail delivery delayed due to weather Update

Thursday, January 31, 2013   by: Kate AdamsCanada Post is advising that mail will be delivered in North Bay today.

*****

Canada Post advising that due to freezing rain, poor road conditions, and road closures in Northern Ontario, Canada Post will not be able to deliver mail in North Bay, Bonfield, Mattawa, Rutherglen, and Corbeil.

They also advise that once conditions improve normal mail delivery will resume.

This extreme weather also increases the risk of injuries due to slips, trips and falls. As such, we would like to ask home and business owners to give us a hand in ensuring a safe workplace for our employees. Here’s how they can help:

■ Shovel regularly to remove snow, ice, and other debris from stairs, walkways, driveways, and the area where their mailbox is located;

■ Put salt down to melt existing ice on stairs, walkways, and driveways; and

■ Put sand down as an extra precaution to ensure a safe walking surface.
