In the wake of a warm front, an area of rain, at times heavy, is expected to move into Northeastern Ontario this evening. A general rainfall of 20 to 30 mm is forecast for tonight with another 10 to 20 Wednesday. The highest amounts are likely to occur in a swath from Manitoulin Island to North Bay.

This winter storm will bring hazardous travelling conditions to Northeastern Ontario. Motorists are urged to exercise caution as poor visibilities will be possible in heavy snow and untreated roads may become icy.

Freezing rain ending tonight south of James Bay. Freezing rain redeveloping Wednesday northeast of Georgian Bay.

A low from Colorado is tracking northeast towards Northeastern Ontario tonight.

For areas south of James Bay from Kapuskasing to Kesagami lake, periods of freezing rain and freezing drizzle continue and are expected to change over to periods of light snow tonight, when freezing rain warnings can be ended.

For areas northeast of Georgian Bay, periods of freezing rain and freezing drizzle will change to plain rain tonight. Temperatures are forecast to drop Wednesday and as a result, rain is expected to change back to freezing rain. The freezing rain could last for a few hours in some locations before a transition to ice pellets and snow occurs.
