Freezing rain today.

A low from Colorado will tracking northeast towards the Upper Great Lakes today and tonight. A band of freezing rain ahead of its associated warm front is expected to move into regions near Lake Superior and Lake Huron this morning then spread rapidly northeast across remaining districts this afternoon. Freezing rain, may become mixed with ice pellets at times, and is expected to last for several hours over most locations. The freezing rain will change over to plain rain as the warm front moves through, but it will take until this evening for the warm front to make it through northern and eastern regions near the Quebec border. Most areas will receive 2 to 5 mm of freezing rain.

Untreated surfaces will become icy and very slippery. Pedestrians and motorists should exercise caution and adjust travel plans accordingly.
