NBPSCS Recreational Association makes a donation to the soup kitchen

On January 22, 2013, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board’s Administrative Staff Recreational Association (ASRA) presented Jill Clark, Executive Director at The Gathering Place, with a cheque for $1,308.43.

NPSC staff spent the month of December raising funds by holding a bake goods challenge, designated casual dress days, 50/50 draws, and a Santa Clause Shuffle card game. Several individual donations were also made.

Since The Gathering Place opened in North Bay in September 2003, approximately 200,000 meals have been served. The facility operates on community donations and costs approximately $250 to run daily. NPSC’s donation will help the facility provide meals for more than 5 days.

In December, St. Francis School also donated $510 in pennies, making for a total donation to The Gathering Place of $1,818.43 from the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic DSB community during the Advent season.
