Near North Crime Stoppers and the Ministry of Natural Resources are asking for the public’s assistance to report any fishing violations they observe taking place on Lake Nipissing, specifically individuals catching over limits and slot size walleye through the ice.

A new regulation took effect on January 1st, 2013, reducing walleye limits to 2 for a sport fish licence and 1 for a conservation licence. The slot size for walleye remains the same.

Since the start of the 2013 ice fishing season, it has been reported that several anglers are taking over limits and slot size walleye. The occurrences seem to be spread across the entire lake. The health of the Lake Nipissing fishery is the responsibility of everyone.

Anyone with information on resource violation on Lake Nipissing or any other crime is asked to contact Near North Crime Stoppers:

• Call 1-800-222-TIPS(8477)

• Submit TIP online at www.nearnorthcrimestoppers.com

• Text ‘Nipper’ and TIP info to CRIMES (274637)
Remain Anonymous and earn cash reward of up to $2000
