Near North Board invites community deputations for West Ferris ARC

The Near North District School Board’s accommodation review committee (ARC) for the West Ferris Family of Schools presented its final report and recommendations to the Board of Trustees for consideration on November 27, 2012.


The ARC for the West Ferris area family of schools includes: West Ferris Secondary School, Silver Birches Public School, Ferris Glen Public School, Marshall Park Public School, Sunset Park Public School and Tweedsmuir Public School.


Community members have an opportunity to make deputations directly to the Board of Trustees to make their views known before any final decision(s) are made by the Board. The meeting will be held at West Ferris Secondary School on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.


Members of the public wishing to make a five minute presentation to the Board must submit their deputation in writing. Deputations for presentation will be received up to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 by Sue Walker, Executive Assistant to the Director of Education, at [email protected]. Deputation requests must include: speaker’s name, address and contact numbers and the topic and a copy of the submission.


The Board will be deciding the future of the schools involved, in open session, at its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.
