Wheel falls off North Bay plane landing in Toronto; no one hurt

Sunday, January 20, 2013   by: Kate AdamsThe Toronto Star is reporting that an Air Canada Jazz flight from North Bay lost its landing gear wheel while landing at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, on Sunday.

Jazz officials say 72 passengers plus the crew were on board the plane and no one was injured.

The Star reports the right wheel on the nose gear loosened while the small propeller plane was taxing to the terminal.

They further report that pilots kept control of the plane during the situation as a precautionary measure emergency vehicles were dispached to the plane on the runway.

The airline will be launching an investigation.
