Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is once again encouraging youth and new professionals in the riding this year to consider applying to two programs within the Ministry of Government Services.

The Ontario Internship Program (OIP) and Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO) program are designed to attract a diverse array of new talent to the Ontario Public Service (OPS).

OIP introduces recent university and college graduates (within the past two years) to the OPS, offering two, one-year paid internships in a variety of focus areas within various ministries. The application period for OIP opens January 3, 2013, and closes on January 22, 2013 at 12 noon.

Meanwhile, more than 4,000 SEO student positions will be available throughout the province this year, and will be posted on February 15, March 8 and March 29.

Updated information on student employment can be found at www.ontario.ca/careers. Interested candidates may select the Youth and New Professionals link to learn more about the programs, how to apply for OIP and SEO positions and to discover the broad range of career opportunities available in the OPS.

Questions about these or other youth employment initiatives can be directed to Fedeli’s constituency office either by phone at (705) 474-8340 or by email at vic.fedeli@pc.ola.org.
