Hey kids Santa is in Canadian airspace! UpdateMonday, December 24, 2012 by: Kate AdamsJust moments ago members of the 21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron at CFB North Bay were tracking an unknown object on their radar.
After deploying CF18 fighter jets they have positively identified the flying object as a sleigh and confirmed Santa is in Canadian air space.

It was all smiles at CFB North Bay tonight as members of the 21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron confirmed that Santa is officially in Canadian airspace and delivering toys to good boys and girls across the nation before heading to the United States.
Major Dave McCaskill with the United States Air Force says his crew was delighted that the unknown subject turned out to be friendly aircraft.
â€śWe work at NORAD 365 days a year, 24 hours a day and we detect, track and ID and pull surveillance on enemy aircraft thatâ€™s leaving or coming out of the country,â€ť he explains.
â€śSo something like that is exactly you know real life for us, actually when people in the States ask me what do I do or exactly my job I like to tell them I protect Canada and the USA from bad guys.â€ť
â€śSanta actually slows down just for out fighters so you know he can give a thumbs up a wave to â€™em because he is obviously very fast.â€ť
â€śHeâ€™s obviously a great pilot, heâ€™s never had an accident all weâ€™re doing is clearing a safe passage for him and saying hi.â€ť
For Data Link Operator Master Corporal Alan Silk says he has been waiting 11 years to be on the team that tracks Santa.
â€śSanta Claus himself â€¦ itâ€™s the childhood myth, the fantasy itâ€™s all good things associated with Santa Claus and to be part of the NORAD Tracks Santa which brings all of this right to the computers and TV screens for kids around the world, itâ€™s just so nice to be such a small part of it.â€ť
Silk says he looks forward to introducing NORAD Tracks Santa to his children and making it a big part of their Christmas tradition.
