ETFO stands up for their democratic rights

Local members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario picket outside Tweedsmuir Public School at Lakeshore Drive and Gertrude St. Tuesday.

Elementary school teachers for the Near North district joined colleagues from seven other boards across the province and hit the bricks Tuesday to defend their democratic rights and oppose Bill 115.

ETFO Vice President Maureen Weinberger says the public needs to know that their fight is not over money it is about the Ontario Education Minister Laurel Broten and the province stripping away their democratic right to bargain in good faith with their employers and imposing their rules.
