Through a pre-recorded video, Madeleine Meilleur, Minister of Francophone Affairs, announced to students and staff of École secondaire catholique Franco-Cité that they had won the 'Affiche tes couleurs' (Show Your Colours) competition, a provincial contest organized by the Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario to mark Franco-Ontarian Day.

A group of Grade 12 students, with the support of their Français teacher Marie-Josée Sylvestre, recorded the video at an assembly that took place in the gym of their school on September 25th. The video also includes testimonials from students about the importance they attach to their francophone identity.

"Our most sincere congratulations to the students and staff of École secondaire catholique Franco-Cité for organizing this event and for winning the contest,” said Cynthia Roveda, Director of Education at Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord.

“This event demonstrates once again the pride, enthusiasm, commitment and technological skill of the students of École secondaire catholique Franco-Cité.”

The winning school receives a concert by a Franco-Ontarian artist. The winning video can be seen on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UXeEJso_uY.
