Mattawa trio face drug charges after police execute a search warrant

On November 5, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau North Bay Drug Enforcement Unit supported by the Ontario Provincial Police Mattawa Detachment executed a search warrant at a Mattawa residence.

As a result of the investigation a quantity of methamphetamine and cannabis resin were seized with a street value of $430.00. Three individuals were arrested and charged, Shawn Chayer and Alex Butler were held for a bail hearing in North Bay on November 6, 2012 and Zacary Gardiner was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court on January 9, 2013.

Street value of the drugs seized is $430.00.

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Failing to Comply with Undertaking Conditions

Alex BUTLER, age 20, of Mattawa

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Failing to Comply with Undertaking Conditions
Breach of Probation – 2 counts

Zacary GARDINER, age 18, of Mattawa

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
