Fedeli announces one-time health grant for the region

Local health organizations will receive more than $900,000 in one-time grant funding, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced today.

The North Bay Regional Health Centre will receive up to $757,824 for the 2011-12 fiscal year for support of mental health service delivery.

The supplemental funding comes under terms of the 2008 Physician Services Agreement with the Ontario Medical Association with respect to physician payment increases at divested psychiatric hospitals.

Also, the Physically Handicapped Adults Rehabilitation Association (PHARA) will receive $150,000 for the 2012-13 fiscal year to support Personal Support Worker training.

“I applaud the dedication of these organizations for their continued commitment to providing needed and quality health services in Nipissing,” said Fedeli.
