Flu shot clinics start up Monday

The flu season is here and the Health Unit begins their flu shot clinics next week, with the first clinic in Sturgeon Falls on October 29.

The full schedule of the Health Unit’s clinics is available online at healthunit.biz.

You can make an appointment at some clinics in North Bay, Sturgeon Falls or Parry Sound, or simply drop in at any of the clinics to get your flu shot.

 For an appointment at one of the clinics in North Bay or Sturgeon Falls, call 705.474.1400, ext. 2248 or email fluappointments@nbpsdhu.ca.

 You can make an appointment for Parry Sound clinics by calling 705.746.5801, ext. 3221, or emailing psfluappointments@nbpsdhu.ca.

 Influenza is a common illness that spreads easily and can become very serious, especially for very young children, the elderly, or those with other health problems.

 To protect yourself and your family from the spread of influenza and other diseases this season:

o Make sure your whole family gets their flu shot every year

o Wash your hands for 20 seconds to remove germs and do it often every day

o Cough or sneeze into your sleeve or use a tissue

o Stay home when you are sick.
