Third Avenue man charged with theft under $5000

On the 16th Oct at 8:25 AM, a man smashed the window of a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Main St E. He removed items from the vehicle and fled on a bicycle.

He was observed by police on Wyld St where he attempted to escape riding his bike.

He was apprehended at 8:41 AM in possession of the items stolen from the vehicle.

Subsequent investigation revealed that he was also responsible for the Aug 9th occurrence on Regina St where a vehicle window was smashed and a purse taken while a child was in the vehicle.

Robert Lariviere 52 yrs of Third Ave has been charged with 2 counts of theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

Csts Ross Lingley and Richard Hampel are investigating.
