This Fall marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the North Bay Aquatic Community Centre.

To mark the occasion, the YMCA will be hosting a 10th Anniversary Open House from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, October 13th at the YMCA of North Bay, 186 Chippewa Street West.

The YMCA will be welcoming guests, past donors, YMCA members and members of the community to mark the milestone with an official 10th anniversary cake cutting ceremony at 11am. Guest speakers will include Nipissing MP Jay Aspin, MPP Vic Fedeli and Mayor Al McDonald among others.

Activities will include a BBQ and tours of the YMCA facility.

The YMCA of North Bay works to ensure that all families and children have the opportunity to benefit from a YMCA experience, regardless of their financial circumstance.

By attending the Open House, the community will have the opportunity to tour the YMCA, to learn about the North Bay Aquatic Community Centre and to witness how the aquatic centre supports children and families in our community.

During the past year, more than 1,200 children participated in swim lessons at the YMCA with many more benefitting from youth programming and activities.

Yeah, great - too bad it can't host any swim tournaments. Originally fund- raising touted how it would promote sports tourism, but in true NB fashion, corners were cut so much it now hosts zip.
