Although the run on the east side of the chairlift has been called Suicide for a long time, the time has come for change. It is hard to explain to a nervous new skier or boarder that has just conquered the beginner hill that a run called Suicide is a good idea. Suicide is also a serious issue that we don't want to make light of.

Laurentian Ski Hill is looking to the community for suggestions for new names.

You can send in your suggestion by email (info@laurentianskihill.com), send us a tweet (@laurentianski), post it on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/LaurentianSkiHill) or leave a message at 705-494-7463. All Submissions need to be in by October 6th, 2012.

The board will select the top names and then the public will vote for their choice.

There will be prizes for the winning suggestion.

Suggestions so far include Gargantuan, Gateway to the North, Downtown and Bayview.

Laurentian Ski Hill is hard at work preparing for a new season.
