Commemorating the Battle of Britain Reminder

Members of the public and the media are invited to attend a commemorative ceremony for the 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The ceremony will include a parade consisting of a 30-person flight from 22 Wing, a flight of Veterans and a flight of Air Cadets.

There will also be a wreath laying ceremony.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside at the Legion.

Commemorative ceremony:

Where: Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 23 on First Avenue
Memorial Park

When: Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 1 p.m.

The Battle of Britain was fought in the summer of 1940 when the Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force confronted the German Luftwaffe on a daily basis until the allies claimed victory on September 15, 1940.
