Thief smashes car window and steals purse

At approximately 6:50pm on the 8th of September, a vehicle was parked unattended in the 100 block of Main Street East when an unknown suspect smashed the passenger side window of the vehicle and proceeded to steal a purse which was left on the front passenger seat.
Police are reminding the public to refrain from leaving any valuables in plain view inside unattended vehicles.
Investigation is continuing.
