Temagmi selected for Community Energy Shift Project

Temagami has been selected to participate in a Community Energy Shift Project - a series of 3 workshops being designed and delivered through the Blue Sky Renewable Energy Initiative (http://blueskyenergy.ca).

This project, being led by the Biomass Innovation Centre (http://www.biomassinnovation.ca) at Nipissing University and funded through the Community Energy Partnerships Program (CEPP) (http://www.communityenergyprogram.ca) is intended to build awareness about renewable energy and explore opportunities for developing community renewable energy projects within the Temagami region. The workshops are open to all residents, businesses, farms, churches, schools and other community stakeholders.

“We look forward to working with residents and stakeholders from Temagami, and hope that this project acts as a catalyst for the development of renewable energy initiatives and local economic growth”, says Dawn Lambe, Workshop Leader for the Blue Sky Renewable Energy Initiative.

Whether you are simply interested in learning about renewable energy, or would like to explore opportunities for developing locally owned renewable energy projects, these workshops will be of interest to you.

“We are excited to have been selected by the Blue Sky Renewable Energy Initiative and to be given the opportunity for our community to explore the possibilities of developing more renewable energy projects,” says John Santarossa, Economic Development Officer with the Municipality of Temagami.

The first community information session/interactive workshop will be held at the Temagami Community Centre from 6 pm – 9 pm on Wednesday September 12, 2012.
