Child witnesses car theft from the backseat

On August 9th, 2012 at approximately 11:03am, a woman attended a business in the 1300 block of Regina Street.

While she attended inside the business, she locked her vehicle leaving her 9 yr old child sitting in the rear seat along with her purse on the front seat.

A male then walked up to the vehicle and upon noticing the purse, proceeded to break the window with his elbow and then stole the purse.

The male then fled the area on a mountain bike towards McGaughey Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male, mid-late 30’s, medium build, wavy black hair, poor teeth, wearing a black hoodie, shorts, black socks, white shoes.

He was also carrying a dark back pack and the mountain bike was dark in colour.

Investigation is continuing.
