The Summer in the Park Committee is very disappointed with having to cancel the remaining portion of Saturday evening’s concert due to a severe thunderstorm.

The Committee’s Emergency Response Plan was implemented, concert grounds were safely cleared and fortunately no one was injured.

Further severe weather, along with damage to staging/sound equipment required cancelation of the concert. The safety of fans, volunteers and entertainers was of greatest concern.

The entertainers were paid, as per their agreements, and like other outdoor events, wristbands are nonrefundable.

Friday night was a great success and two of Saturday’s three bands performed, unfortunately, conditions prevented Meat Loaf from taking the stage.
