North Bay's Summer in the Park Festival is mere hours away.

Advanced tickets have been selling extremely well and the fact that they are soon to increase to 40 dollars will undoubtedly accelerate sales at the last minute.

With the expectation of a beautiful weekend, weather wise, the organizers have also seen large demand coming from sales outside the city.

The weekend's action packed itinerary can be viewed at http://www.northbaysummerinthepark.ca/ or you can call 705-474-0626 ext. 2329 or 2335 for information.

It would be advantageous to anyone's planning to review the many events and times so as one would not be disappointed in missing particular features.

With events as varied as reptile farms, to Can-Asian Idol, to a Cricket tournament, it is easy to see there are events for an immense amount of interest, with the musical entertainment being the highlight of the weekend festival.

Summer in the Park organizer Jacques Lacourse is quick to point out the location of the event is near the bus and pedestrian underpass at the waterfront, which is just across from the Discovery North Bay museum.

This being a new venue, it is hoped that the crowd and traffic problems that arise will be easily dealt with but to be sure, it's always good to get to the events early.

Of course, it goes without saying to make sure that festival goers attend with mindfulness that sunscreen and hydration are necessary as well as a dose of patience as crowds and children converge in a safe manner to enjoy the event.

Listed below is some of the concert highlights.

Friday, August 3rd, Jesse Labelle, 7 pm., The Stereos perform at 8 pm., Marians Trench, 9:45 pm.

Saturday, August 4th, Dig Newton, 7 pm. Downchild Blues Band, 8:05 pm. Meatloaf, 9:30 pm.

This is by no means a comprehensive listing of events.

If you are a country music fan, a young family, an animal lover, or an artsy type of person, there's something you won't want to miss at this event.

See you this weekend at North Bay's Summer in the Park, 2012.
