City police are asking for patience from drivers this weekend

North Bay Police Service are asking for the patience and assistance of the driving puplic with the expected increase in pedestrian traffic in the area of Lee Park and Oak Street Museum area as North Bay hosts the 2012 Summer in the Park.

Memorial Drive will be open to through traffic from Main Street West to Queen Street (area of the Queen Water Plant). Memorial Drive will be closed at Judge Avenue to Stanley Street (the area in front of Lee Park). Motorists are asked to follow detour signs. Police are asking motorists to be vigilant for pedestrians crossing roadways or in parking lots.

The streets around Lee Park and the downtown core will see increased movement of people to the Summer in the Park grounds and the concert site.

North Bay Police Service has been working with the Summer in the Park committee to provide policing and security personnel at the event throughout the weekend, both at Lee Park and the concert site.

General Patrol Section of the North Bay Police Service and the Traffic Unit will be conducting RIDE spot checks throughout the weekend.

Police are encouraging safe and courteous driving as visitors attend to the City.

asking for patience? they havent had it any easier, lets face it ,when was the last air show here in the bay?? thats what brought people in ! plus they have more police on the force now vs then,and theres less people now then then ,so my question is "can this people count?"
