On Saturday, the Nipissing Arts Council held a Funders Forum for the Arts and invited MPP for Nipissing, Vic Fedeli, to help them announce some good news. This past March, they were awarded a $71,000 grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The funding from OTF will be used over the next three years to support a coordinator to implement the Nipissing Educational Arts Partnership Program. This initiative will offer professional development opportunities to local artists and arts organizations and help them build their capacity to succeed.

ABOUT

The Nipissing Arts Council (NAC) was founded in 2009 in response to the community’s need for an active, dedicated organization to support, promote, unite and advocate for arts within the Nipissing District. Their goal is to be an inclusive, accessible, and responsive umbrella organization that will play a partnership role in strengthening the connections between artists, arts organizations, and the community. The NAC aims to enhance the knowledge of the cultural infrastructure and increase the visibility of local creative talent both within the community and beyond.

A leading grantmaker in Canada, the Ontario Trillium Foundation strengthens the capacity of the voluntary sector through investments in community-based initiatives. An agency of the Government of Ontario, OTF builds healthy and vibrant communities.
