Tornado warning for West Nipissing - French River upgraded from Severe thunderstorm warning


At 5:10 radar indicates a rotating thunderstorm near the west end of Lake Nipissing moving southeastward at 60 km/h. A tornado is possible with this thunderstorm.

Severe thunderstorms likely producing tornadoes are imminent or occurring in the area. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall may also accompany these storms.

Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.

At 4:30 PM radar indicates a severe thunderstorm just west of Sudbury moving east southeast at 50 km/h. Large hail and severe winds are expected to be the primary threats. There is also a risk of a tornado.
