McIntyre St W man charged with assault a weapon

At 11:47 pm on 21st July a verbal altercation at Fraser St and McIntyre St between two men escalated when one man produced a knife and lunged at the other with it.

John McLean 46yrs of McIntyre St W was arrested at 11:50 pm on Main St.

A small quantity of what is believed to be marijuana was found on his person.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of an illicit drug.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
