Quebec driver charged with fail to yield following bypass collision

On July 3, 2012 at 5:51pm, the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two (2) vehicle collision on the bypass near Frost St.

There were 4 people involved in the collision with 2 of them suffering minor injuries and the other 2 receiving minimal injuries.

The North Bay Fire Department and Ambulance were also on scene.

The Jaws of Life were used to extract one driver from their vehicle.

As well, prior to North Bay Fire Department arriving on scene, a fire extinguisher was used by the tow company to douse flames to one of the vehicles.

There were some minor delays during the collision investigation and clean-up; however traffic was not greatly impacted.

As a result of the collision a 64 yr old male, Ghislain RIVARD of Angliers Quebec has been charged with Fail to Yield contrary to section 144(8) of the Highway Traffic Act.
