City police check 580 vehicles during RIDE, one evades program

The North Bay Police operated a ride program Fri evening June 29th and Sat evening June 30th.

A total of 580 vehicles were checked at several locations.

One highway traffic offence was processed on Friday.

One drinking and driving offence was laid on Saturday.

On Saturday a pursuit was initiated when a vehicle attempted to evade the program. The pursuit was terminated when conditions became too dangerous. The driver subsequently abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle has been seized and the investigation is continuing.
