Two Ottawa men charged with possession following traffic stop

North Bay – On June 28, 2012, members of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducted speed enforcement on Highway # 17 just east of North Bay. At 8:30pm, a BMW travelling westbound was clocked travelling 145km/h in a posted 90km/h zone and was consequently pulled over.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested and 88 grams of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia were seized. The street value of the drugs is $1760.

The vehicle driver is 24yr old Rohan CAMPBELL of Ottawa and is charged with;

 Possession of a Schedule II Drug – Marijuana contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Stunt Driving – Speeding contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

Campbell was released on a Promise to Appear and his first court appearance will be July 24, 2012 in North Bay. His driver’s licence was seized and automatically suspended for 7 days as well his vehicle was towed and has been impounded for 7 days.

The vehicle passenger is 23yr old Runako BREAKENRIDGE-RUGLASS of Ottawa and is charged with;

 Possession of a Schedule II Drug – Marijuana contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Breach of Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

BREAKENRIDGE-RUGLASS was held in custody pending a bail hearing today in North Bay.
