Retired head gardener to six Canadian Governors General and Prime Ministers, more than two decades as phone-in “gardening guru” for CBC Radio’s “Ontario Today”, Ed Lawrence has provided practical, down-to-earth advice that has become the final word in gardening for more than half a million loyal listeners and fans.

Now for the second time since 2008, Ed Lawrence returns to the Callander Community Centre, Sept 22, 7:00pm, hosted by the Callander Horticultural Society.

Ed's advice to callers on the radio suggested ideas for filling in the spaces between flag stones; how to care for raised flower beds; and attention to cherry trees.

Also, The Annual Flower and Vegetable Show goes August 25th from noon to 3:00pm at the Callander Community Centre, Swale Street.

Admission is free and the show is open to the public,

See a variety of cut flowers, roses, hostas, dahlias, houseplants, vegetables and herbs, basket arrangements,
container planters, artistic designs with fresh and dried material, photography by titles, art and painting and driftwood displays.

Relax in the corner garden with the North Bay Spinners Guild who will have members show their skills of spinning yarn from a variety of textures and view the CHS videos.
