OPP execute drug warrant seize drugs and weapons

On June 20, 2012 at 2:30pm, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit and members of the Mattawa OPP executed a search warrant on a 4th Street residence in the Town of Mattawa.

As a result of the investigation and warrant execution, 2 adults were arrested and charged with 17 drug related and firearm offences. Seized were;

120 Morphine pills, 83 LSD pills, over 200 Methamphetamine pills, 5 Ecstasy pills, marijuana, Psilocybin and 1 firearm with ammunition. The total street value of the seized drugs is $18,600.

Charged are:

Shawn CHAYER, 23yrs of Mattawa is charged with;

 Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I drug, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule III drug, contrary to section 5(20 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Possession of a Schedule I drug, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Possession of a Schedule III drug, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Possession of a Schedule II drug (Cannabis Resin), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act


Andre TREMBLAY, 27yrs of Mattawa is charged with:

 2 counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm, contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I drug, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule III drug, contrary to section 5(20 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

 Possession of a Schedule III drug, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

CHAYER and TREMBLAY will appear in Mattawa for court on July 11, 2012 for first appearance
