St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School honoured many of its students last Tuesday at the annual academic awards evening.

Over $33,000 in scholarships and bursaries were handed out to top students in grades 9 through 12. Below are some of the major awards:

Student of the Year: Andrew Butti

Honor Letters: Andrew Butti, Rebecca Brideweser, Lauren Tignanelli, Katrina Piekarski, Sieglinde Busch

The Distinguished Catholic Graduate: Lauren Tignanelli

Catholic Schools Foundation of Nipissing-Parry Sound Award: Lauren Tignanelli

Bishop Carter Christian Leadership Awards: Stephen Krieg, Katrina Piekarski

Catholic Education Foundation of Ontario Award: Katrina Piekarski

Dick Smith Volunteer Award: Kendall White

The Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award: Sieglinde Busch

Highest Academic Average: Nicholas Waltenbury (Grade 9, 95%), Brooke Mathias (Grade 10, 95%), Robyn Hummel (Grade 11, 95%), Alexandra Neubert (Grade 12, 97%).

“It is reaffirmed year after year that academic excellence is a rich tradition at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall,” said Anna Marie Bitonti, Director of Education.

“We congratulate each honoured student and offer our prayerful best wishes for continued academic success as they continue to grow at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, and, to our graduates, as they pursue further learning in post-secondary and beyond.”
