Manage your own dog waste sustainability in your own backyard with a pet waste digester!

Greening Nipissing is holding an hands on workshop on Wed. June 27 from 5:30pm-6:30pm at 183 First Ave. W. boardroom. The cost is $25.00/person. You will go home with the knowledge of how to your own pet waste composter and some septic starter.

The average dog produces 1/3 pound of waste per day! Pet waste has four times more nitrogen than human waste and every time it rains this pet waste, filled with harmful bacteria, gets washed into stormsewer drains and out into our rivers. High amounts of nitrogen cause algae blooms blocking sunlight and oxygen which are vital to aquatic life.
