Arrest made in vehicle thefts case

At 2:15PM 12 June police attended the Gertrude St area responding to a complaint of a vehicle window being smashed and purse stolen.

A suspect was located riding a bicycle near Marshall Ave.

He fled on foot but was arrested after a short chase.

Property located on his person came from another vehicle entry.

Tyler Straughan 28yrs of Gordon Dr has been charged with 3 counts of theft, 2 counts of mischief, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

Cst Dan Shepstone is investigating.
