ONTC GCA to make presentation to budgetary committee at Queen's Park

Representatives from the General Chairperson’s Association (GCA) which represents all unionized employees at Ontario Northland (ONTC) are scheduled to make a presentation about the McGuinty government’s decision to privatize the ONTC to the all-party Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs Monday June 11, 2012 at Queen’s Park.

“The GCA sought and was granted permission to make a presentation to this important Legislative committee to explain why privatizing the ONTC is such an ill-conceived idea”, stated GCA spokesperson Brian Kelly.

“This presentation is part of the GCA’s multi-faceted approach to overturning the McGuinty governments fire sale of Ontario Northland”, added Kelly.

“This opportunity allows us to explain to all parties at Queen’s Park why the North is so opposed to the divestiture of the ONTC’, continued Kelly

“We are confident once all MPP’s at Queen’s Park have the facts about the importance of the ONTC to the North the McGuinty governments reasons for privatizing Ontario Northland will no longer have any validity ”, concluded Kelly.
