CARSTAR wants your dirty car on June 8th

For the past eight years, dirty cars have been making beautiful things happen for Cystic Fibrosis Canada through the annual CARSTAR Soaps It Up for Cystic FibrosisNational Car Wash Fundraiser. At the ninth annual event CARSTAR North Bay and local volunteers will join forces with over 70 CARSTAR locations across the country to surpass $2-million in funds raised for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. CARSTAR North Bay will be holding their event on Friday, June 8th.


To mark this major milestone, Canada’s number one auto collision network has officially declared the dirty car an object of beauty, commissioning world-renowned “dirty car artist” Scott Wade to literally transform dirty cars into works of art using the dust on a dirty car windshield as his canvas. Photos of his original work will be available at http://www.carstar.ca/soapsitup. Many CARSTAR locations across the country will be emulating Scott Wade’s work by featuring their own dirty car art on June 8th and 9th at their local Soaps It Up car wash to celebrate the volunteers and donors who have made the $2-million fundraising milestone possible.


Funds raised at CARSTAR North Bay will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and The Gathering Place: North Bay’s Community Soup Kitchen.



Cystic fibrosis is a multi-system disease that affects mainly the lungs and the digestive system and is the most common fatal genetic disease that affects Canadian children and young adults. Each week in Canada, two children are diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and one person dies from the disease. There is no cure.


Car wash tickets can be purchased at CARSTAR North Bay or by visiting www.carstar.ca/soapsitup. There are 100 prizes to be won, including an all-inclusive trip for two to Costa Rica, an Apple prize package (featuring a Macbook Air, iPad, and more) and a $1,000 shopping spree.
