A meeting with the insurance agency for the tanker spill at Hwy 63 and Silver Lady Lane Saturday turned into a tension filled question and answer session with all officials as residents of Silver Lady Lane tried to process information about what is safe as better than a third of the residents are now back in their homes.

Representatives from the city, police, fire, health unit, and Ministry of the Environment answered a barrage of questions about drinking water, contaminated bedding plants and who is responsible for what part of the clean-up as residents voiced their frustrations around the whole situation.

North Bay’s CAO Dave Linkie says they are using all of the city’s resources to communicate with residents and every step is being taken to ensure the area is returned to a safe environment.
