Singer Robin Gibb loses battle with cancer

Singer songwriter Robin Gibb, who along with brothers Barry and Maurice who made up the legendary music group the Bee Gees, lost his battle with cancer Sunday.

To their credit the Bee Gees garnered nine Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards and one Brit Award.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, the Bee Gees produced 22 studio albums between 1965 and 2001, three of them reaching the Top 10 on the U.S. music charts.

The group charted over 60 hit singles, including Massachusetts, I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You, Lonely Days, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, How Deep Is Your Love, Stayin’ Alive, You Win Again, and For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Robin in predeceased by his twin brother Bee Gees band member Maurice and younger brother Andy

He was 62.
