Miller and Fedeli to hold ONTC stakeholder consultationsWednesday, May 16, 2012 by: Kate Adams

QUEEN’S PARK - PC Northern Development Critic Norm Miller and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli will be holding stakeholder consultations next month across Northeastern Ontario regarding Dalton McGuinty’s decision to dismantle the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission.
Meetings will be held in North Bay, Timmins, Cochrane and Englehart during the week of June 18th.
“This government proceeded with a fire sale of Ontario Northland with no prior consultation of communities or stakeholders in the North,” said Fedeli.
“We want to visit the communities most affected by this decision to hear their thoughts, concerns, and determine their requirements going forward,” Fedeli said.
“It’s especially important to know what current customers of Ontario Northland want and need to ensure their businesses can succeed.”
Fedeli, who has met with Northern Development and Mines Minister Rick Bartolucci as well as top ONTC officials, also has a meeting scheduled with Infrastructure Ontario this month in Toronto to learn more about the process the government plans to use in dismantling the ONTC.
“Ontario Northland continues to be my number one priority and I will work to ensure as many jobs remain in North Bay as possible and service levels are maintained.”

Your boss was part of the initial movement to sell ONTC 10 years ago. I would like to have your boss get up in parliament and speak against this fire sale.

mrjojo...u can spin it any way u want but it is the LIBERALS that decided to sell the ontc...monique knew it and said/did NOTHING, any comment on that??....now, Vic is the ONLY 1 telling the truth when he said he did not support the taxpayers picking up millions in losses BUT, he is the ONLY 1 of the 3(horvath, dalton) asking questions about what the government has planned and what he can do for the employee's. I dont see dalton offering any information at this point and i dont see horvath fighting for the employee's? She just postured for votes before the last budget and 'said' she supported the ontc yet this issue NEVER came up during budget talks with dalton?? Go figure....no, Vic is the only one that told the truth...he does not support the tax payer footing the bill for a company losing millions but he does support the employee's in any way he can....this is 1 of those ways....u keep living in the past about what was said/done 10yrs ago....funny, no mention from u about dalton's accountabilty or horvath just posturing for votes, just a knock on Vic and the PC's....typical....
