McIntyre St. E man charged with assault resist arrest

On 13th May at 1:30PM a man took 2 rings from a jewellery store at Northgate and when confronted, threw one ring and fled with the other.

When located by security he assaulted the security guard and fled.

When located by police he threatened the officers, resisted arrest and then assaulted an officer.

John Atchison 28yrs of McIntyre St E has been charged with theft under, 2 counts of assault, assault resist arrest, uttering threats, and assault police.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
