North Bay Blooms & Kiwanis Club of Nipissing had over 40 volunteers help clean-up 36 Lake Nipissing Access points for their first clean-up day this year.

Over thirty bags of litter, a park bench from Chippewa Creek, a broken paddleboat and two dump trucks full of organic debris and litter were picked up from the access points and later taken by the City of North Bay to the proper landfill locations.

North Bay Blooms spokesperson Dr. Catherine Whiting was delighted with the turnout and commented that it was a pleasure to see so many people out to clean up the public access points that are a real treasure in our community.

Tim Horton's helped out with complimentary t-shirts for the volunteers and was pleased to be part of another community clean-up day.

Union gas staff and their families brought out two pick up trucks and a dump truck to help collect the debris and larger items.

The Aktion Club had almost 14 volunteers out and picked up litter along the Amelia Beach and Chippewa Creek.
