South River woman arrested for impaired driving

SOUTH RIVER - On Wednesday May 2, 2012 at approximately 6:40pm the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police responded to a fail to remain vehicle collision.

The collision occurred on Riverside Drive, South River when two vehicles were reversing out of driveways.

The one vehicle a blue Ford Focus reversed, striking the rear of a Dodge Caravan and drove away.

Police investigated the collision and discovered the Ford Focus parked in a driveway on Maple Street in South River.

After further investigation the driver of the Ford Focus was arrested for impaired driving.

Suzanne McCABE (55) of South River, Ontario was charged with impaired operation/motor vehicle and Fail to provide breath sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The driver was also charged with Fail to Remain contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

McCABE was released from police custody and is to appear in court on May 29, 2012 in Sundridge, ON.
