West Ferris SHSM Arts and Culture students are in high demand this year.

Most recently, they are proud to be asked as the only school in the district to represent North Bay and Area in the National Youth Arts Week.

Students are eagerly preparing for the show to take place from May 1st through the 7th at the Kennedy Gallery.

The opening night for West Ferris was May 2 from 7-9p.m.

In addition, senior students are preparing conceptual wearable art for the up-coming ‘3b3 Downtown Art & Fashion show’, which will take place in June.

“We are thrilled with the direction the program has taken, and the wonderful relationships we are forging with community partners like the Kennedy and White Water Galleries; Nipissing University, and Canadore College," said SHSM lead teacher Liana Blaskievich when asked about this thriving program.

"I am especially proud of the recognition we have received from Nipissing where by West Ferris students have been granted prerequisite to the first year fundamentals courses. This agreement is confirmation of all of our hard work, and the high level of achievement of our students enrolled in the specialized program and the arts program in general.”

West Ferris Students are hard at work and eager to show their skill.

We welcome the public to come join as we celebrate creativity in our youth.

Admission is free, and all are welcome.
