Smoldering cigarette butts to blame for Worthington St. fire

Smoldering cigarette butts have been identified as the cause of Tuesday night’s fire at 765 Worthington St. E. Reports indicate that the fire started around 10:30pm after ashtray was emptied in a garbage bin next to the home.

Reports indicate that the fire started around 10:30pm after ashtray was emptied in a garbage bin next to the home.

One person was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Damage to the seven-plex is pegged at $100,000.
