Mattawa resident charged with theft over $5000

Mattawa – On Saturday April 30, 2012 members of the Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and North Bay Criminal Investigations Unit arrested a suspect in relation to numerous fraud offences against the Valois Motel/Restaurant located in Mattawa, ON.

Investigation revealed the offences began in January 2010 and continued until recently. As a result there was a loss of $50,000.

Charged is 46 year old Danielle BAKER of Papineau-Cameron Township with:

 Theft Over $5000 contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

 Falsification books and documents – Fraudulent Intent contrary to section 397(1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

BAKER was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions to appear in Mattawa court on July 11, 2012.
