Area libraries get provincial grants

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced two provincial library operating grants for the 2011-12 fiscal year today.

In addition, and where applicable, some libraries will also receive pay equity funding.

In Nipissing, the library amounts are:

• $8,103 for the Callander Public Library, which is also eligible for an additional $2,000 in one-time funding;

• $1,878 for the Township of Papineau-Cameron, which is also eligible for an additional $2,150 in one-time funding;

“These institutions play an important cultural and educational role vital to maintaining strong local communities,” Fedeli said.
