EAST FERRIS – On Thursday March 15, 2012 at around 6:00pm a dark car attended a residence on Quae Quae Rd in East Ferris Township.

The home owner observed there to be a male driver, a female passenger and a dog in the vehicle.

The male approached the residence while the female remained in the car.

The male wanted to sell them a water filtration system with money up front now with a promise to return with the system and products.

When questioned as to his name or the name of his company – he would not provide any of that information.

The OPP wish to alert the public of this potential fraud situation and remind the public to be vigilant and aware.

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre was contacted by the OPP and they confirmed that they have received a multitude of complaints with respect to fraudulent water treatment/filtration type systems over the years and to be very careful when dealing with these types of sales pitches.

Remember to ask for thorough information regarding them and their company and confirm everything before proceeding. If you had any doubt, do not provide a penny up front – call the police as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
