Man arrested in Little Current sudden death case

LITTLE CURRENT - On Thursday March 15, 2012 at 10:50 a.m. Manitoulin OPP received information about a woman found with no vital signs at a residence situated on Hayward Street in Little Current.

OPP officers attended the scene, confirmed the sudden death and contacted the coroner.

The death is being treated as suspicious.

The deceased woman has been identified as Shelly Eadie, Age 45, of Hayward Street in Little Current.

The coroner has ordered a post mortem examination which will take place on Friday March 16 to determine the cause of death.

Preliminary investigation has lead to the arrest and charges of a Little Current male.

Justin Durdle age 26 of Highway 6, Little Current, Ontario has been charged with the following offences

1. Administering Noxious Substance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

Durdle is being held in custody and will be appearing in Gore Bay Bail court on Friday March 16, 2012, at 10 a.m.

OPP are advising that public safety is a top priority and there are no safety concerns as a result of this investigation.

The investigation is continuing with Manitoulin OPP officers and detectives from the OPP Northeast Regional Crime Unit.

Members of the OPP Forensic Identification Unit are also on scene to assist with this investigation.
